How Offers on Excess Stock Items Work
Selling excess stock? You can allow customers to make offers on your products directly through the marketplace. Here's how the system works and how you can configure it.
Adding Products to the Marketplace
Once your excess stock products are added to the marketplace (guide here), you can enable offers from customers. This gives buyers the option to negotiate a lower price, and you can control how much of a discount you're willing to accept.
Global Maximum Discount
You set a global maximum discount to control automatic offer acceptance.
For example, if you set the value to 10, then:
If an offer is rejected (i.e. the discount requested is greater than the allowed threshold):
Product-Level Discount
You can override the global discount setting on a per-product basis using Shopify metafields.
To do this:
maximum_discount. If you'd prefer a different key name, let the Continue team know, it's fully configurable.15 for 15%.This per-product setting will take precedence over the global discount threshold when offers are made.
